YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy notice.

Clear information about the details you share with us.

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Dignity Clean Limited (Dignity Clean) collects and holds personal information to respond to enquiries and provide cleaning and property maintenance services. This notice explains how we handle that information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Information we collect

We collect the information you give us through website forms, email, phone calls and service discussions. This may include your name, email address, phone number, preferred contact method, requested services, property type and size, suburb, postcode, preferred dates and job or access notes. If you book a service, we may also need the property address and relevant booking, payment and service records.

Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry or service. Do not put keys, alarm codes, payment card details or unnecessary sensitive information in a website enquiry. Arrange any necessary access details directly with us. Website image uploads are not currently enabled.

Our hosting provider may process technical information such as your IP address, browser information and request details to operate and protect the website. To prevent abuse, online enquiry rate limiting uses a keyed hash of your IP address, never the address itself.

Your choices and why we collect information

Providing information is voluntary. Fields marked as required are needed to send the online form and help us respond. Without sufficient contact or property information, we may be unable to provide a quote, arrange access or deliver the requested service. You can contact us by email or phone instead.

We use relevant information to respond, understand your requirements, prepare quotes, arrange and deliver services, manage associated records, resolve questions or disputes and meet legal obligations. An enquiry is not a confirmed appointment. Acknowledging this notice does not subscribe you to marketing.

Information about other people

We normally collect information directly from you. If someone arranges a service on your behalf, such as an authorised property manager or family member, we may receive information necessary for that service where the law permits. Please ensure you are authorised to share another person’s details.

Where we collect personal information indirectly, we will take reasonable steps to tell the person about the collection, its purpose, intended recipients, who collects and holds it, and their rights, as soon as reasonably practicable, unless a lawful exception applies.

Who may receive your information

Relevant information may be accessed by our business team and service providers who need it to handle your enquiry or deliver the agreed service. We may share necessary details with your authorised representative or property manager for arrangements you have requested or authorised.

We may also disclose information with your permission or where disclosure is otherwise permitted or required by law, including to obtain professional advice, address a serious safety threat or handle legal proceedings. We do not sell personal information or publish private enquiry details. Customer testimonials and identifiable project photographs require permission before publication.

Website, email and overseas providers

This website is built, hosted and maintained for us by our website provider, MAITS, on Microsoft Azure. Online enquiries are processed by the MAITS GoodWorks forms service on Microsoft Azure (Australia East) and emailed to our business Gmail inbox using Microsoft Azure Communication Services. The forms service keeps delivery records, such as when an enquiry was received and whether it was delivered, but does not keep the contents of your enquiry. Direct emails are handled through our business Gmail inbox, where enquiries are stored.

These providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where a provider processes information on our behalf, we remain responsible for its handling under applicable New Zealand privacy obligations. Any disclosure to an overseas recipient for its own purposes must have a lawful basis and meet applicable overseas-disclosure requirements, including comparable safeguards where required. Contact us with questions about our providers.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration. The website uses HTTPS, validates submissions and limits the information requested. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please contact us promptly if you suspect a privacy or security issue.

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes for which it may lawfully be used, including providing services, resolving disputes and meeting recordkeeping obligations. When no longer needed, information is deleted or anonymised, subject to lawful retention requirements and the handling of backups. Retention periods vary according to the type of record and the reason it is held.

If a privacy breach causes, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and affected people as soon as practicable, subject to the Privacy Act’s exceptions.

Access, correction and privacy concerns

You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access, or ask us to correct it. Contact our privacy contact at dignitycleanlimited@gmail.com or 027 290 2874. We may need to verify your identity or authority before releasing information. We handle requests within the timeframes required by the Privacy Act and explain any lawful refusal or extension.

Please help us keep your details accurate. If a requested correction is not made, you may ask for a statement of the correction sought to be attached to the information. You may also ask about deletion; any request is considered alongside our lawful retention obligations.

If you have a concern, contact us so we can investigate and respond. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. Nothing in this notice limits your rights under New Zealand law.

Cookies, external links and updates

We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. To understand how the website is used, we keep cookieless page-view totals through our website provider, MAITS: when a page loads, only the page address and the referring page are sent, and only daily totals are kept. No cookies, identifiers, IP addresses or browser details are stored, and visitors whose browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track are not counted. Unfinished enquiry details are held in the current page and are not saved by the form in browser storage. Hosting services may process technical information for website operation and security. External websites, social platforms and email services have their own privacy notices.

We may update this notice as our services or information handling change. The current version and last-updated date are published on this page. Material changes will be brought to your attention where required by law.
